Master Certificate in Six Sigma
Get the skills to improve processes and enhance results. Earn your Master Certificate in Six Sigma.
Government examples:
- The U.S. Navy has saved millions of dollars thanks to Six Sigma, theory of constraints (TOC) and lean projects. Some of the results include a 3-to-5% reduction in operations costs; increased efficiency allowing an investment per jet of 8,000 hours in 134 days as compared to 6,000 hours in 192 days and an overall improvement in work getting done faster, with fewer people, requiring less inventory. In fact, according to Quality Digest, as of May 2005, Navy leaders were requiring commanding officers, executive officers, department heads, command master chiefs and senior enlisted advisors complete lean Six Sigma and TOC training.
- The city of Fort Wayne, Indiana has successfully used Six Sigma methodology to: reduce costs and increase revenue; reduce the time to fill a pothole from four days to four hours; reduce the time it takes to get a city building permit from an average of 50 days to just 11 or 12; save millions of dollars by improving efficiency; reduce late trash pick-ups by 50% and lower the crime rate to record levels.
